No one expected Ichiban’s adventures to end after just one outing, and we were right to assume that. The dirty-haired idiot with a heart of gold (and fists of steel) is back for another adventure through the streets of Kamurocho and beyond. However, it looks like another somewhat unexpected facet of the series’ past will be joining him in some form. After the series took on the subtitle Like a Dragon, which the game has always been known for in Japan, that title has now completely replaced the old Yakuza brand.
like a dragon 8 It will be the direct sequel to Yakuza 7: Like a dragon, Which introduced us to the series’ new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, as well as switching from a 3D action game to a turn-based JRPG. This major transformation paid off because that game was the bestselling game in the series to date, so a sequel was inevitable. However, you can never be entirely sure where this series will go next, narratively or mechanically, so we ran into the back alleys of Kamurocho to gather all the information we could get like a dragon 8.
With the initial announcement, we only got a release window for like a dragon 8which is slated for a release sometime in 2024. That makes sense given that the series typically hits a roughly annual release cadence, and we’ve already got two more games, Like a dragon: they were And the Like the dragon jayden: the man whose name cleared, in 2023.
Although two years or so hiatus, like a dragon 8 You are not going to give up on the last generation consoles yet. It was announced for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Trailer advertising like a dragon 8 Very short but a somewhat surprising revelation, given the supposed direction the chain has taken.
The trailer opens on the familiar streets of Kamurocho with the unmistakable silhouette of Ichiban rolling toward the camera. According to how good YouTube’s translation function is, many voices are talking on top of each other, saying things like, “It’s been a long time, Ichiban.” Most of the dialogue doesn’t even try to translate, because of the many sounds. However, you can clearly hear Adachi, Nanba, Saeko, and (we believe) Joon-gi and Zhao as well, although it’s hard to tell.
At this point, a second silhouette joins Ichiban. This time, we get subtitles as Figure Two shows, “I guess we don’t have a choice.” Ichiban replied, “Okay, it’s hero time… Kiryu-san!” If the sound does not go away, we will finally see the faces of our two leads: Ichiban and the gray-haired Kiryu.
While Kiryu appeared in the previous match, he was not in a leading role. It was basically a fight and summons that was meant to show the torch going from him to Ichiban as the series’ new leader. However, that might not be the case if his role in the game is as prominent as his status in this trailer and is anything he has to go through.
Multi-threading is nothing new to string, with Yakuza 0 Swap evenly between Kiryu, Majima, and Yakuza 4 Contains four playable characters. How this game will handle the matter, or if our assumptions about Kiryu are completely wrong, will be revealed later.
like a dragon It was the breaking point for the chain. From that point on, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios (RGG) clarified that the Like a Dragon series would continue to use JRPG, while the new series, Rule, It will continue the traditional 3D motion mechanics upon which the series was built. So, even though we haven’t seen any gameplay yet, it’s almost certain that like a dragon 8 It will show an updated and expanded version of the gameplay we had Like a dragon.
Outside of combat, expect to still have a dense city area to explore, and Kamurocho is almost certainly included as one of the exploreable areas. There will be no doubt about the spread of basic mini-games around the city, such as karaoke, arcade games, batting cages, bowling and maybe some new activities to mess around with.
Some types of business or management games are also another feature that includes most games that you can usually spend a lot of time on. Whether they’re running a fracking company or a real estate company, these side businesses are surprisingly well-developed and distinctive.
2024 is still very far in the future, plus RGG has two other Like a Dragon games to market and release before like a dragon 8So don’t expect pre-orders for this one anytime soon. Once they do, we’ll be here with the details for you.
